Dim Distant Reports
Most of these matches are in the dim distant past now, but I didn't want to redo or just delete these old reports, so I've linked them all in here. Ignore any links to demos in these reports as they are all broken, and I didn't bother going back over all this stuff to fix it up.

 HIV 42 - 41 SCREAM
This midweek clash ended in our first defeat to clan SCREAM. The SCREAM clan is really coming on at the moment, and will cause a few upsets me thinks in the second half of the IQ2CL

q2dm1
q2dm7
A good practice match this. I actually played for SCREAM as they were short one player. Janey Mackers had a field day here.

q2dm2
q2dm1
DALI had only 3 players present at the start of the match, and Vor kindly agreed to let us play 4v3, so we could use our proper tactics. A good match this one.

q2dm1
q2dm3
This was a very worthwhile match agsinst DALI . I messed up the tactics for q2dm1, and only realized this with about 3mins to go. By then it was too late, but we played well here considering this mistake. We only had 3 players for q2dm3, and I played on my local POP, so I was happy enough with the way things when (and 19 frags considering my ping was double what I normally have for matches). DALI played well and did a very good job on the QUAD. I look forward to our upcoming IQ2CL meeting.

q2dm1
This was arranged at the last moment, and we ended up playing 3v3. On the first level our tactics destroyed DF (sorry max). Max spent some time before the second one sorting DF out, and that level was much closer till near the end. I started it bad, getting fragged while having a sip of coke at the railgun, and it was only the last 10mins or so I got back into a rhythm.

Both q2dm8 - Our Server
Their Server
Playing on Railgun with a ping around 400ms wasn't much fun for me, but note Lurkers pings on the different servers. Impressive.
Another win over DF. My word this is becoming a habit.
Umm, another win.
q2dm8
N3D booked a barrysworld server for this and it was a bit laggy for both clans, hence the low score. The game was close until about half way through and then we got hold of the level and had a comfortable enough win.

17/3/99 - q2dm1 - NIC
A good match this, with NIC playing well dispite this being their first match. We were trying out new tactics and were a bit all over the place in the first level, but after 12mins with NIC only 2 frags behind we got ourselves sorted and took control. On the second level I played which on my local pop was always going to be interesting. NIC had quite a big lead at one point but we narrowed it down near the end.

q2dm4
First game of the new (aborted) IQ2CL and we were up against TUK, swedish clan that we nknew very little about. We won it comfortably enough. TUK had very poor pings, something that is normally the opposite when we play.

q2dm1
A good game this, but as usual our weakness on dm1 didn't help and we lost to a very good LsD clan. At least we're improving on The Edge and with a few more matches to get used to our new tactics we should be much more confident on it.

11-04-99, q2dm2 v EED
EED turned up for the IQ2CL game which had been prosponed. So we played them on q2dm2, which is their and our favorite, although with all the training matches we're doing on it I'm getting fed up with it. EED took an early lead, holding the Red Armor but we were doing a decent job on Quad. We re-took the Armor and then the game see-sawed a bit with us pulling into a very small lead and EED coming back at us continually. Mackers got dissed for us and Scoob got dissed for EED which made the game a bit bitty. Most annoying thing was whenever I got into Modulators (Billox) fov I was immediately railed, very frustrating :). It was nice to get a victory over EED as they had beat us in our 3 previous meeting but the disses sorta ruined the game. Heres hoping the IQ2CL match will have no dissing.

q2dm1 : EED 76 - 32 HIV

Screenshot buggered up on dm1, just take it form me it wasn't nice anyways :)

18-4-99: HIV 103 - 93
Great game this. We had server problems at the beginning but we eventually got up and running. It was a HPB only game and we started on dm2 very well, running up a comfortable lead despite having quite a few PJOD's. Then close to the end Janey got dissed and we lost the RL position. SS got a few Quad runs in and suddenly it was neck and neck. Cartman jumped in and re-took the RL but it was too late and we lost by 2. Bah.

Onto q2dm1, our worst level. Well our tactical rethink seems to have worked as we did a great job, although Cartman was a bit lost. This is only the second time hes played with us so its to be expected. Nevertheless we did excellent work all round with only one worrying point about 6mins from the end when SS came back into it. Overall two very enjoyable games.

14-6-99 : HIV v CBA
q2dm3
q2dm1
We dominated the first game on dm3, not surprising really seeing as we had close to our strongest team out for it. CBA are relatively inexperienced and it showed. A few of their players also had poor connections to the server. I had a woefull game, both times I got the 666 I walked striaght into the lava. FaceDancer had an excellent match, looking like a very good recruit.

Onto dm1 and a server limit of 8 meant I couldn't get on to watch it, by all accounts we didn't play the best, but fair play to CBA, as you can see from the efficency ratings they all did their stuff. Castor was his usual l33t self, almost singlehandedly winning the level for us. DM1 is still a ropey level for us though.

20-6-99 : q2dm5

A class game here with us doing really well considering the fact we were up against 3 LPB's. This was our final warmup for our UKCCL match v N3D, who in the end didn't show. Bah, lucky them :)

22-6-99 : q2dm3

Opps, another 3 LPB effort. We were holding them well until the last 6 mins, when Sil went on a railgun rampage as we lost quad control. Up to that we had lead to the half way point and kept in contention. We got hammered in the last 6 mins.

25-6-99 : q2dm3

Oh yes we'll play the current LPB champs and give them 3 LPBs :) Well, what sort of score did you expect? Considering some of the beating they are handing out in Div2 this isn't as bad as it looks. honest :)

01-07-99 : 173-171, HIV win

q2dm1

q2dm3

Great games these, we did very poor at the beginning of dm1, then got stronger as we went along, I was lagged to hell, real slow-mo stuff and was a complete liability. Ah well, the level ended and I poped out and re-connected. The frag pipe was a different story, we grabbed control and always seemed to be a safe distance ahead. Spooks did play a weaker team here, which was disappointing as we really wanted a stronger test on this level.

12-07-99 : TRDM06

This was a good game, SS ran into a sizable lead but we fought back and took control of the level off them, with some excellent Quad running by Castor. SS then hit back and had an easy 5mins at the end where we ran around like headless chickens :) Seemed like I had a good midweek connection so I thought I'd ......

I shouldn't have joined in for the second, we seemed much more lagged here, with Castor and myself having real problems. Not surprisingly SS romped away for a big win. We had no real coordination in these games, with poor re-grouping when we lost control and no real syncronised attacks on Quad. Well we can only get better, we do tend to get beaten the first time we try out new levels and tactics.

15-7-99 - Q2DM6

Well, not having any practice on this for god knows how long we didn't expect to win it, but we also didn't expect to lose by so much. Nimrod started out getting the first 4 quads, and stopping our first quad run before it started. HOOD at this point had a good lead but we slowly started giving as good as we were getting at the Quad, with Castor & myself barely able to fend off Nimrod. With 8:30 left we had taken the score to 40-39, only 1 frag behind. Each clan was getting the quad every second time, so HOOD would pull out a small lead, we'd pull it back and so on for the next few minutes. JM was plugging away coming out as our best player, while Akira in his first game kept a steady rate of rail kills going for us, not allowing HOOD easy access to the rail area adn this helped greatly. With 5 mins left it was 55-45 to HOOD and I had just cleared out the Quad of a camping HOOD player and was ready to pick up the Quad when I got PJOD'ed ! Arrrrgh, even worst just as the diss was ending, Nimrod appears, nabs the Quad and chains me, I OVERFLOW ! SHITE. Without me and Castor against him Nimrod got all the remaining Quads and ran up a cricket score in the last 5mins. ThundaHart jumped in but had little chance against a rampant Nimrod. Ah well, now to our choice of map.

TRDM06

We thought we had a good tactical setup for this level now, and most things worked quite well, we knew we'd beat HOOD on it, just weren't sure how close it would be. Pity Nimrod didn't play in this one as we wanted a real test on it. As it was we had little trouble controlling the quad and gave their HPB's a real hard time. Railden managed an excellent percentage, but didn't do it in the correct area. No point l33ting around the place while the rest of your team gets hammered. Which is what he seems to have done. If he had reacted to our quad control and started trying to help there the scores would have been much closer. Not that we mind of course :)

22-07-99 : q2dm1

Talos had his first chance to impress here, and coming out on top with 71% was impressive, considering his ping was double the norm. YD had conn problems, but having said that both Talos & ThundaHart are UK based too, so it wasn't all one sided. Good play all round with both our LPB's doing our best work.
